LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Testimony continued on the second day in the trial of a Lexington man, charged in connection with a deadly shooting last year.
38-year-old Corry Jackson is charged in the shooting death of 43-year-old Timonte Harris, the shooting happened on Chestnut Street in April of 2023.
Police say 32-year-old Lakeisha Hill was also shot at the scene, she later died at a hospital.
Jackson is not charged in her death.
Jackson and his family continue to maintain he did not fire the shots that killed Harris.
On Tuesday, new forensic evidence revealed DNA found on the gun allegedly used in the shooting was linked to Hill’s boyfriend, Courtney Wrenn.
Officials say DNA on the gun’s trigger did not match that of Corry Jackson or Timonte Harris.
Courtney Wrenn is not charged in this case, but is indicted in another homicide.
Jackson’s defense claims it was Wrenn who fired the fatal shots at Harris.
According to testimony, Wrenn’s blood was also found inside the Chestnut Street residence where the shooting took place.
The trial will head into a third day on Wednesday.
