INDIANAPOLIS -- A man is recovering in the hospital after being shot during a gun sale on the southwest side of Indianapolis Tuesday night. Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched around 9:20 p.m. to the 8600 block of Camby Road in response to reports that a person had been shot. IMPD said officers arrived on the scene and located an adult male suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition, according to IMPD. IMPD later said in an update around 10 p.m. that the victim was upgraded to stable condition. Preliminary information indicates the shooting stemmed from a disturbance that broke out between the victim and a suspect during some type of gun sale. IMPD added that there is no threat to the surrounding community at this time as this shooting appeared to be an isolated incident. As of this article's publication, no suspects are in custody as detectives are working to learn more about the circumstances that led to Tuesday's shooting.
