Green Bay man sentenced to jail, probation for forgery and casino fraud

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - A Green Bay man found guilty of three counts of forgery avoided prison time but was sentenced to jail and probation on Friday.
Court records show that 45-year-old Thai Yang pleaded guilty to three counts of forgery and was sentenced to 270 days in jail and six years of probation for using a relative's ID to claim more than $20,000 in casino jackpots.

Yang was facing 10 counts of misappropriating ID info to obtain money, a felony, but with his guilty plea, these charges were dismissed. A resisting or obstructing an officer charge was also dismissed.

According to court records, Yang will need to participate in the Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Program, take a Correctional Offender Management Profiling for Alternative Sanctions evaluation, and maintain or obtain full-time employment, school, or a combination of both.
Yang will also be prohibited from gambling and is not allowed to be inside or near any casinos.
