DEFIANCE COUNTY, Ohio (WANE) -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) is investigating a crash involving a school bus that left a man with "serious" injuries.
Around 2:00 p.m. Monday, a man heading north on Christy Road stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Christy and Banner School roads in Defiance County as a school bus was heading east on Banner School Road, which does not have stop signs at that intersection.
According to OSHP, the man entered the intersection as the school bus passed through, causing the bus to crash into the man's vehicle.
The bus driver suffered minor injuries, and the man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. There were no children on the school bus at the time of the crash, according to OSHP.
Alcohol is a factor in the crash, according to OSHP, and the department reminded people to not drive while impaired and to wear a seat belt.
