Mt. Carmel offers free acupuncture to veterans

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center in Colorado Springs is now offering free acupuncture sessions for veterans and their families.
Mt. Carmel is performing "AcuDetox," a five-needle acupuncture treatment to the ear that has been used to help people with trauma and mental health. Mt. Carmel's website said the treatment has been very effective in helping people prevent PTSD, and it helps with a wide range of symptoms including anxiety, depression, fears, sleep problems, intrusive images, and nightmares after a trauma.
"In our clinic, we see a lot of PTSD and MST coupled with low back pain or neck pain," said acupuncturist Laura Clark. "Pain is the number one reason that people seek acupuncture treatment."
