Woman shot after allegedly pointing gun at officers

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A woman has been taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries after she allegedly pointed a gun at officers responding to a domestic disturbance.
According to CSPD, officers responded just before 3 p.m. to the 5600 block of Buckskin Pass Drive on a report of a domestic disturbance. The caller reported that his ex-girlfriend was at his house, ringing the doorbell and excessively knocking on the door. The caller also reported his ex had a warrant out for her arrest.
CSPD said officers were familiar with the suspect and she was known to carry a gun. When they arrived, officers saw the woman and tried to approach her, but she walked away. Immediately after making contact with the suspect, she allegedly pulled a gun and pointed it at the officers. At least one officer fired at the suspect, hitting her.
Officers provided medical attention to the suspect before she was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. No bystanders or officers were injured during the incident, and the involved officers have been placed on administrative leave per department policy.
The El Paso County Sheriff's Office will investigate the shooting.

According to CSPD, one person was shot and taken to the hospital where they are currently stable. No officers were injured in the shooting.

The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is investigating an officer-involved shooting on the east side of Colorado Springs.
CSPD posted about the shooting just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17, and said officers were on scene in the 5600 block of Buckskin Pass Drive, near North Powers Boulevard and North Carefree Circle.
CSPD did not specify whether anyone was injured. FOX21 News has a crew on the way to the scene and will provide updates as information becomes available.
