CHARLOTTE, NC — Waves of smiling faces, took a surprise field trip to Bank of America Stadium Tuesday night. “The toys, the games, the gifts, the fun. It’s going to be bananas. And so they just were excited,” said Natalya McCallum. McCallum is the family services director of the YMCA Stratford Richardson of Greater Charlotte. Her group of children is one of many who got toys, clothes, and coats gifted to them this holiday season by the David and Nicole Tepper Foundation. “I almost cried downstairs when they all showed up. It’s just means that we’re a family,” said Nicole Tepper. The Tepper Foundation has held an event like this for the last six years. A time for children to get a better Christmas and get to meet some of their favorite players. “We want to do everything we can just to spread joy during this time,” said Panthers quarterback Bryce Young. Young reflected on his Christmas memories with family. Recognizing how fortunate he was and looks at the holidays as a time to give back. “I was super blessed with my family for me, having my family around was kind of all that I ever hoped for,” said Young.
