BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Former Baton Rouge professional football player gives two Baton Rouge parents a new home just in time for the holidays. NFL legend Warrick Dunn gave two single parents a new home in Baton Rouge through the Habitat for Humanities of Greater Baton Rouge on Tuesday. "Baton Rouge taught me what it means to care about your neighbor, care about each other," said Dunn. Dunn will also give both families a $5,000 down payment assistance and $10,000 worth of furniture from Aaron's. This is really multi-years in the making and planning from helping partners through our homeownership program," said Ritchie Goebel, CEO of Habitat for Humanity. Justin is a father of two and said the program gave him more than a home, it gave him the skills and confidence to provide a stable future for his children. "Oh, my sons mean everything to me," said Justin. "The most important job I think I have today is just being a father and just seeing their joy and excitement, that's just the gift that keeps on giving." O'Haisha's family of four is moving from an apartment and shares they're grateful. "It's a dream come true," said O'Haisha. "As a single mother, this is a dream come true and the kids have a backyard to go in, we have more than one bathroom and they have separate beds. It's a lot." These homes will bring Dunn's total to 236 home celebrations by the Warrick Dunn Charities (WDC). Justin was a former volunteer to help build a Habitat home and decided to apply. O'Haisha was inspired to apply after learning Dunn's story and realizing she wanted to own her home instead of renting.
