ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A portion of Mt. Read Boulevard was closed after the pedestrian bridge fell onto the roadway Tuesday causing a crash. (News 8 WROC/Eric Schedlbauer) News 8 crews at the scene said it appeared the bridge, which connects to the Kodak plants on Mt. Read, was struck by a vehicle. Police said a roll-off dump truck was in the "up" position when it hit the bridge. As a result of the collision, the south side of the bridge was brought down. A blue Kia crashed into the debris. The drivers of the truck and Kia were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. No arrests were made, and no citations were issued, but the Rochester Police Department is looking into why the truck was in the "up" position. The area has since been reopened to traffic.
