NAS Lemoore advises drone operators to avoid its airspace

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Navel Air Station Lemoore wants to remind people that the Navy prohibits drone activity within its airspace.
This comes after a large number of mysterious drones have been reported flying over New Jersey and across the eastern U.S., sparking speculation and concern over where they came from and why.

NAS Lemoore says in a Facebook post that “Navy security will take action against any unauthorized drones, whether they pose a threat or not. Personnel found operating an unauthorized drone on Navy property could face federal charges and prison time.”
Officials state that authorized drone operations on Navy installations must be coordinated and approved at multiple levels, which include the installation commanding officer and the Federal Aviation Administration.
