LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) - A new early education space just opened at Bay Path University, and a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate.
The Willie Ross School for the Deaf and Bay Path University partnered together to bring a new early education center to the college campus. The early education classrooms are located on the first floor of Theinert Hall which is a multi-use residence hall on the campus.

This new space will benefit students at Bay Path as they will have the opportunity to intern in the classrooms. It will also provide 2 and 3-year-olds with the Willie Ross School for the Deaf with more space to learn and let out all of their energy. There are four classrooms and support rooms for both students and staff.
Through this partnership, the school will be able to serve 20 more students. This as the school's early childhood program grew over time which resulted in the need for more space.
"They are going to have a bigger space, more space to run around and so they need a lot of room to go. We will be able to provide them with a quality experience that is going to help prepare them for the school year when they get to that age," said Willie Ross School for the Deaf President and CEO Bert Carter.
Carter says this partnership will help both institutions and their students to continue to succeed moving forward. Bay Path University President Sandra Doran says they look forward to offering the resources and expertise to support the early education work at the Willie Ross School for the Deaf.
