The popular TEDxParkCity Women event will return this Dec. 19 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, 2100 Frostwood Blvd.The all-day event brings together curious big thinkers for live and streamed speakers, with spaces for conversation mixed into breakout sessions and meals. “This is a beloved event in our community, offering women a chance to gather and hear from other women in the fields of Technology, Entertainment, and Design,”  said founder Teri Orr. “It is meant to be a day of reality and hope—the chance to share and reflect on how we are doing— this particular December.”  The program features award-winning journalist, speaker, and strategic executive Laura Brounstein, who will be interviewed by co-organizer Bari Nan Rothchild.Attendees will also hear from New York-based singer-songwriter Jill Sobule in a livestream from her Broadway dressing room. Harvard Divinity School lecturers and Utahns Geralyn White Dreyfous, an award-winning filmmaker and Utah Film Center founder, and Terry Tempest Williams, an award-winning author, will offer words of hope in these complicated days. Said Orr, “This event will be just hours before Winter Solstice begins. We will examine how we can each be the light in the dark days ahead.”Check-in starts at 8:30 a.m. and the all-day program begins at 9 a.m., with beverages and bites. Morning and afternoon sessions will include a mix of talks and breakout activities, with a leisurely sumptuous lunch in the Waldorf’s private dining room.“Throughout the day, we’ll include ways to process what you are hearing,” said Rothchild. “We will have engaging activities, alongside quiet spaces, so participants have the chance for meaningful connection around the big ideas of the day.”At day’s end, attendees can expect a toast — and sweets from Tandem Chocolates — presented by the chocolatier and former Parkite, Phyllis Robinson.TEDxParkCity Women is geared to attendees 18 and over.
