RIBridges data breach call center now available on weekends

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Governor McKee’s office said the RIBridges data breach call center will now operate on the weekends, in addition to weekdays.
During the weekend, the call center will be available from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
From Monday through Friday, the hotline will run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Gov. Dan McKee said that the multilingual and toll-free center will provide general information about the breach as well as steps customers can take now to protect their data.
However, analysis of the breach is still occurring and call center staff will not be able to answer if a specific individuals data was compromised.
Once the impacted individuals are identified, they will be mailed a letter with the information they need to secure free credit monitoring services.
McKee’s office said that anyone who who has received or applied for health coverage and/or health and human services programs or benefits could be impacted by the leak.
The following programs were listed as being handled by the RIBridges system, but the list is not exhaustive:
Medicaid,
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP),
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF),
Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP),
Health coverage purchased through HealthSource RI,
Rhode Island Works (RIW),
Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS),
General Public Assistance (GPA) Program.
The Department of Human Services has also extended their hours in its Pawtucket office and two Providence offices.
The offices and DHS call center will now be open until 7 p.m. on Dec. 16, Dec. 17, and Dec. 18.
