Community raising money for Providence families displaced by fire

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — It’s been about a week since a devastating fire in Providence left six families without a home.
The massive blaze on Dec. 10 ravaged a multi-family home on Elmwood Avenue.
“It was just shocking, devastating,” Michelle Aguiar said. “My heart just feels for everybody who lives in the building.”
Aguiar says her father owned the building, and her family is now raising funds for the families impacted.
“I didn’t know them personally,” Aguiar said. “But I know the amount of work that my father put in to make sure that their home was taken care of.”
The city has since condemned the home, and it’s soon to be demolished.
“I really want to make sure the families are set up to rebuild,” Aguiar said. “They lost everything.”
The link to the GoFundMe can be found here.
“Please consider donating to these families,” Aguiar said. “They’re local, right in your backyard, and they could really use it.”
