‘Track 15’ food hall set to open in February
Dec 17, 2024
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Downtown Providence is opening a brand-new food hall, located in the historic Union Station.
“I was trying to take this historic space and bring local chefs under one roof, and that’s what inspired us,” Marsella Development Corporation President Chris Marsella said.
The $25 million project, named “Track 15,” will officially open on Feb. 27, 2025.
The food hall was set to open in spring of 2024, but the project was delayed for various reasons.
“We had both site issues and some of the delays in our supply chain,” Marsella said.
It’s formerly the home of the Capital Grille, and will now hold seven Rhode Island-based restaurants.
“This is the first time since the building was built in 1898, the entirety of the lower level, known as the central terminal building at Union Station has become one space,” Marsella added.
The food hall will offer seafood from Dune Brothers and burgers from There There.
The original Union Station operated until 1986, which is when the smaller Amtrak station was built.
The food hall’s name, “Track 15,” plays off what the location once was.
At least 100 new jobs were created from the development project.
“Food has a funny way of bringing people together,” Marsella said. “And the reason we really like the food hall model, it just draws people of all types, from all parts of the surrounding area.”
Track 15 will have a preview event at Farm Fresh RI on Jan. 16 where a portion of the evening’s proceeds will benefit the Amos House.
Tickets can be purchased here.
