'ATM saw bandit' wanted in St. John the Baptist Parish arrested in Texas

ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A man accused of using a saw to try to steal money from ATMs in St. John the Baptist Parish has been arrested.

On Oct. 12, the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office reported that deputies were searching for 32-year-old Alfred Roy Cobb after a group of people allegedly tried to break into an ATM in LaPlace using a "heavy duty cutting saw."
SJSO officials reported that while their attempts to get money were unsuccessful, the ATMs were damaged.

On Thursday, Dec. 12, deputies said Cobb was arrested in Temple, Texas after he was found by U.S. Marshals.
SJSO officials said once Cobb is extradited to the parish, he will face charges of simple burglary and criminal access to an ATM.
