Man faces multiple charges after crashing into Lexington business on South Main Street during police chase, officers say

LEXINGTON, N.C. (WGHP) -- A man was arrested on Sunday and faces numerous charges after a chase and crash, according to a Lexington Police Department news release.
Around 9:45 a.m., officers with the LPD were involved in a pursuit with a 1998 Ford F150 reported stolen out of Greensboro.
During the pursuit, one of the officers crashed in the 300 block of Sink Inn Road and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the stolen vehicle, Phillip Burnett, 29 of High Point, then hit a Powerline Batteries building located at 2312 S. Main St. No one was in the building during the crash.
Burnette ran away from the scene of the crash and was arrested a short distance away by the NC State Highway Patrol.
He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and released.
Burnett was charged with:
felony flee to elude
felony resist, obstruct and delay
possession of stolen motor vehicle
driving while license revoked
failure to stop at a stop sign
speeding
misdemeanor hit-and-run
felony possession of schedule I
He was served an order for arrest from Rowan County , two warrants for arrest for hit-and-run and failure to stop at a stop sign.
Burnett was also wanted by the U.S. Marshalls on a full extradition federal warrant out ofVirginia.
He is in the Davidson County Detention Center under no bond.
