(WFRV) - The Fox Cities Salvation Army kicked off its Christmas Distribution event, as weeks of collecting donations will finally culminate in gifts for thousands of children in the Fox Valley. Thousands of different toys and family items will be handed out throughout the next four days. "That's why we have four days, so we don't have a line outside," Executive Director Kristal Knudtson said. "So we have enough volunteers to provide services to walk them through and get their gifts, pick up whatever they might need, and get their gifts wrapped on the way out." Salvation Army of Greater Green Bay begins Christmas Distribution, 6,000 children to receive various gifts It's the biggest holiday event for the Salvation Army. There are also a pair of match days, where the Fox Cities Salvation Army will match donations made.
