Lena Suring Police chiefs host annual Shop with a Cop program

LENA, Wis. (WFRV) - On Saturday, Dec. 14, Village of Lena Police Chief James Herald and Village of Suring Police Chief Kevin Schneider partnered to kick off the annual Shop With A Cop program, uniting their communities for a heartwarming holiday tradition.
Launched in Lena in 2017 and expanded to Suring in 2023, the program aims to strengthen relationships between local law enforcement and youth. Children selected for the event shop for Christmas gifts for their families, accompanied by police officers.

This year, Chief Herald and Chief Schneider brought the children to Target in Ashwaubenon for their shopping experience. Afterward, the group enjoyed lunch at McGuire's Restaurant in Lena and wrapped the gifts together at the police department.
The event was made possible by generous donations from anonymous community members. The Lena Police Department expressed gratitude to the donors and the families of the participating children, emphasizing the program's impact in fostering community spirit.
