Oshkosh Police reminds community no garbage or recycling will be picked up on Christmas and New Year's Day

OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) - The Sanitation Division has sent a message to the City of Oshkosh highlighting important information about garbage and recycling collection during the upcoming Christmas and New Year's Day holidays.
In a Facebook post from the Oshkosh Police Department, there will be no garbage collection on Wednesday, December 25, Christmas Day, and Wednesday, January 1, 2025, in observation of the New Year.

Residents are advised that collections for the remainder of those weeks will happen one day later than usual.
The post states that garbage and recycling services originally scheduled for Friday, December 27 will be postponed to Saturday, December 28. Services scheduled for Friday, January 3, 2025, will shift to Saturday, January 4, 2025. Regular garbage and recycling collection services will resume on Monday, January 2025.
Officials also highlight that the waste drop-off center, located on West 3rd Avenue between Idaho Street and Ohio Street, will also be closed to observe the holidays. The center will be closed on December 24, 25, and January 1, 2025. The drop-off center will re-open on December 26 and again on January 2, 2025, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Additionally, the post reminds residents that curbside Christmas tree collections will take place on the regularly scheduled garbage collection days during the weeks of January 6 to 10, and again on January 20 to 24.
