MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) - A day after a deadly school shooting in southern Wisconsin, officials provided another update on the ongoing investigation.
Authorities held a press conference on December 17 regarding an update to Monday's shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison. A teacher and student died in the shooting, while six others were injured.
During the release, Police Chief Shon Barnes said the department is looking for a motive and said it is their top priority. He did acknowledge a document that was going around on social media.

Barnes said that they could not confirm if it was from the shooter and authorities are working to authenticate it.
The shooter was identified as 15-year-old Natalie Rupnow, who went by the name Samantha. She reportedly opened fire during a study hall, killing another student and a teacher, and wounding six others.
Authorities said they are looking into Rupnow's online activity and her motivation appeared to have been a 'combination' of factors. Barnes did say 'everyone was targeted' during the attack.
Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway said they must allow law enforcement the time and space for a 'careful and methodical examination'.
