(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo Police Department (PPD) is investigating after a man was shot in the chest and suffered life-threatening injuries on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
According to PPD, officers responded shortly after 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday to a reported shooting in the 400 block of Washington Street, near I-25 and Abriendo Avenue. PPD said the investigation suggests two men were involved in an altercation before one of them shot the other.

The victim was taken to the hospital before officers arrived on scene, where he underwent surgery. The victim is in critical condition, but PPD said he is currently stable. The other man remained on scene and is cooperating with police.
PPD did not specify if anyone has been arrested or charged in connection to the shooting.
