BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Police are asking the public to contact local authorities if their children came in contact with an Albion man currently in custody.
John D. Smith Jr., 30, was arrested for first degree rape: anal sexual contact with a person under 11 years old and endangering the welfare of a child, Albion police announced Tuesday.
He is being held at the Orleans County Jail on $5,000 cash/$10,000 bond.
"The Albion Police Department felt it was important to get the suspect’s identity and information out to the public due to concerns that there may be additional unidentified victims in the surrounding area," the department said in a statement. "If your child came into contact with John D. Smith Jr., please contact your local authorities."
