BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A former candidate for Chautauqua County Family Court judge has been accused of election law violations, the Erie County District Attorney's Office said Tuesday. Sally Jaroszynski, who ran under the Working Families Party line in the November election, is accused of signing and notarizing a designating petition for the Conservative Party for the Chautauqua County Family Court judge, by acknowledging she witnessed a signature when she was not present. It is alleged that the election law violation happened in March. In November Jaroszynski lost the election to Republican Peter Johnson, only getting 24.6% of the vote. The case was transferred to Erie County from Chautauqua County due to a conflict of interest with Chautauqua County. Jaroszynski is charged with two counts of misconduct in relation to petitions. One count was dismissed by the Erie County DA's office due to proof issues. WIVB News 4 has reached out to Jaroszynski's law office, located in Jamestown, but has not yet heard back.
