Murder suspect arrested in northwest Minot

MINOT, ND (KXNET) — A Minot man has been arrested in connection with the death of a woman found dead Tuesday morning, December 17.
According to a press release from the Minot Police Department, at 12:22 a.m., Minot Central Dispatch received a call about an unresponsive woman in a northwest Minot apartment. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a man performing CPR on the victim. According to police, the man said Friling Hadley, a 35-year-old Minot man, was supposed to be waiting outside to meet the police. That person could not be found.
The woman was transported to Trinity Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. According to police, examiners believe the woman was strangled to death.
Police say they believe Hadley fled the scene on foot before officers arrived. Officers say they located footprints in the snow, and with the help of a police department K9, they were able to track him to a location about a block away from the apartment. Hadley was arrested on a charge of Murder, a Class AA Felony, and taken to Ward County Jail.
Police say the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
