BISMARCK, N.D. (KXNET) — A spill on December 11 has resulted in the release of a large amount of fresh water in Burke County. According to a press release from the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality (NDDEQ), Rhinokore Composite Solutions reported the spill after a storage tank roughly five miles southwest of Columbus began to leak. The group estimates that roughly 3,000 barrels of fresh water were released as a result — some of which flowed into local agricultural land. 260 barrels of produced water spilled in Billings County Personnel from the NDDEQ are currently investigating the spill, and will monitor any further cleanup that takes place.
