BISMARCK, N.D. (KXNET) — A spill on December 11 has resulted in the release of a large amount of fresh water in Burke County.
According to a press release from the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality (NDDEQ), Rhinokore Composite Solutions reported the spill after a storage tank roughly five miles southwest of Columbus began to leak. The group estimates that roughly 3,000 barrels of fresh water were released as a result — some of which flowed into local agricultural land.

Personnel from the NDDEQ are currently investigating the spill, and will monitor any further cleanup that takes place.
