'Several families' displaced after fire breaks out at apartment complex in Bethesda

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- A fire at a North Bethesda apartment complex left several families displaced on Tuesday morning, according to Montgomery County fire officials.
In a post on X at 10:18 a.m., Pete Piringer with the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) said crews were on the scene of a fire at the Arrowood Apartments, located in the 5400 block of McGrath Boulevard.

The fire was on the fifth floor of the building.

In an update about 20 minutes later, Piringer said the sprinkler system in the building extinguished the flames, leaving some water damage behind.
No one was injured, but several people will need to find somewhere else to stay.
