ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Mt. Read Boulevard is closed after the pedestrian bridge fell onto the roadway. (News 8 WROC/Eric Schedlbauer) News 8 crews at the scene said it appears the bridge, which connects to the Kodak plants on Mt. Read, was struck by a vehicle. Police said a garbage truck was in the "up" position when it hit the bridge. As a result of the collision, the south side of the bridge was brought down. A blue Kia was struck by the debris. The drivers of the truck and Kia were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. According to the Rochester Police Department, the roadway is closed between Ridgeway Avenue and Ridge Road for an extended period of time.
