FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A cat died and another was rescued from a house fire in Fresno late Monday night, according to the Fresno Fire Department.
The fire department says around 10:45 p.m. firefighters were called to the 900 block of North Safford Avenue for reports of a house fire.
Firefighters say they were able to rescue one cat and another died. The occupant was able to safely get out.
The home had significant damage and the resident has been displaced, according to the fire crews.
The cause of the fire according to investigators was accidental caused by items being too close to the floor furnace.
