Firefighter injured in house fire in South Kingstown

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — A firefighter was injured in a house fire in South Kingstown yesterday.
According to officials, crews were dispatched around 12:58 p.m. to a reported structure fire on Amos Street.
Firefighters arrived within minutes to find heavy fire coming from the third floor.
According to Chief Steven Pinch, crews made an aggressive attack and were able to bring the fire under control.
The structure sustained major damage, but the occupants were able to get out safely.
One firefighter was transported to the hospital with burns to his legs.
According to Pinch, he has since been released and is doing well.
State and local fire marshals are investigating the cause of the fire.
