SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE) — A 20-year-old from North Attleboro was killed in a motor vehicle accident in Smithfield yesterday. Police said the accident, which involved two vehicles, happened around 5:35 p.m. in the area of 777 Putnam Pike. The 20-year-old was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for critical injuries. He succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Police said the other vehicle’s operator and juvenile passenger were transported to Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children’s.
