SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WPRI) — An investigation is underway after a 20-year-old man was killed in a crash, according to Smithfield police. Officers responded to the area of 777 Putnam Pike around 5:30 p.m. Monday for a report of a crash involving two cars. One driver, from Attleboro, was transported to the hospital where police say he later died from his injuries. The other driver and juvenile passenger were also taken to the hospital.
