MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A woman was arrested after police say her fingerprint was found on a bottle of lotion left during a Walgreens theft over a year ago. According to reports, on December 4, 2023, Memphis Police responded to 8046 Macon Road in Cordova. Officers were told that three women entered the business at around 3 a.m., filled shopping carts with merchandise, and ran out of the store without paying for the items. 📡 See more breaking news, local news and weather from WREG.com for Memphis and the Mid-South. 📧 Sign up for WREG newsletters and have the latest top stories sent right to your inbox. The merchandise was valued at around $1,500. After looking over security footage, officers found a bottle of Aquaphor lotion that had been dropped in the parking lot by one of the women. On May 31 of this year, the MPD says they matched the fingerprint found on the lotion bottle to 30-year-old Sedtrice Curry. In June, Curry allegedly told police she had never shopped at the Cordova store before. She was taken into custody on Tuesday and charged with Theft of Property $1,000-$2,500. Her bond has not been set, but she is expected to appear in court on Wednesday morning.
