'Could be seen from many blocks away': Wisconsin garage fire destroys car, one evacuated

GRAFTON, Wis. (WFRV)—A person was evacuated after a garage fire in an eastern Wisconsin home was knocked down before it spread to the inside.
According to a release from the Village of Grafton Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched to a fire report at 1st Ave. and West Maple. Heavy smoke was seen from multiple blocks in the distance.

The Grafton Fire Chief arrived on the scene to a "fully involved attached garage fire," according to the release. The firefighters on the scene were able to vanquish the flames before it spread to the home's interior.

According to the release, one person in the home evacuated, and firefighters safely got two pets out of the building. The garage and a car were destroyed, but the home was saved from any additional significant damage.
