Man’s body found in Congaree River, say Calhoun County deputies

CALHOUN COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, the search for Paul Chandler has come to a tragic end.
Deputies say Chandler’s body was found on Monday night, December 17, around 8:45 p.m. in the Congaree River.

CALHOUN COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Deputies with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a man last seen by his family on Tuesday, says the sheriff’s office.
Paul Chandler was last seen by his family around 3 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3, according to investigators.
Investigators also say 72-year-old Chandler’s vehicle was found later that morning around 8 a.m. in the Congaree River, at Bates Landing.
Chandler is 5’09, and weighs 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a camouflage jacket, blue jeans, and black “work” shoes.
Sheriff Summers is urging anyone who has seen Chandler, or may have information regarding his location to call 911 or 803-874-2741.
