COARSEGOLD, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A person is dead after getting mauled in Coarsegold Monday, according to the Madera County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say shortly after 3:30 p.m., the county sheriff's emergency communication center received a call regarding a dog mauling in Coarsegold.
According to officials, deputies responded to the area and located a female victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The dogs involved in the attack have been identified, are currently contained and are awaiting to be removed by animal control, deputies say.
Deputies say the owner of the dogs is being fully cooperative with the investigation.
The victim's identity has not been released by officials.
