Pittsfield man sentenced to four years in prison for assault, animal cruelty, and property damage

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Tyrone Jones, a Pittsfield resident, has been sentenced to up to four years in state prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges stemming from an October 2023 domestic incident.

On Tuesday, December 10, Tyrone Jones pled guilty to five charges while being found not guilty to an additional charge, dating back to events from October 14, 2023.
The charges were related to an October 14 incident during which Jones became violent in a residence he shared with the victim. According to court records, Jones assaulted the victim, kicked their dog, and caused extensive damage inside the home. Following the altercation, he left the scene in the victim’s car, which he stole.
Jones was sentenced on December 11 to a term of 1.5 to 4 years in state prison for assault and battery on a family or household member, with concurrent sentences for the additional charges:
Cruelty to Animals: 1.5 to 4 years in state prison
Vandalism of Property: 1.5 to 4 years in state prison
Motor Vehicle Larceny: 1.5 to 4 years in state prison
Larceny Under $1,200: Six months in the House of Correction
