Officials at Andersen Corp., the Bayport-based window and door manufacturer, announced Monday that the company will pay out $50.8 million in 2024 to eligible employees as part of the company’s annual profit sharing program. Eligible employees will receive up to $3,923 apiece, company officials said. This year’s payout is about an 8 percent decrease from 2023, when the company distributed $55.4 million. Eligible employees last year received up to $4,400 in profit sharing. “Amid ongoing challenges in the housing market, Andersen continued to grow in 2024,” Chris Galvin, the company’s president and CEO, said in a statement. “This accomplishment highlights the unwavering dedication, adaptability and resilience of our employees. We take immense pride in recognizing our employees for embodying our core values and consistently surpassing customer expectations. Our people are the cornerstone of our success, and this profit sharing is a testament to their hard work and unwavering commitment.” Privately held Andersen, which had issued profit-sharing payments since 1914, suspended the program in 2008, citing the economic downturn. The company revived the program in 2014 under a new model: rather than based on each employee’s salary, the payout now is shared equally. Andersen officials also announced Monday that the company and its related corporate foundation donated nearly $5.3 million in 2024 to nonprofits working in the areas of “housing, trades education, hunger, and critical access health care in the communities where Andersen employees live and work.” One of the nonprofits was the 2024 Habitat for Humanity Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project, an annual initiative aimed at building and renovating homes for families in need. Andersen donated $1 million to the project through a combination of financial contributions and in-kind window donations. Additionally, more than 150 Andersen employees volunteered on the project, including more than 30 team members installing windows on-site during the final day of the week-long event, officials said. Andersen officials have donated more than $9 million in funding and products to the Habitat network over the past nearly 30 years, said Eliza Chlebeck, vice president of communications and community and vice president of the Andersen Corporate Foundation. “We believe in the power of giving back to the communities where we live and work,” Chlebeck said. “Our donations support a wide range of initiatives, from housing and education to hunger and health care. We are especially proud to support organizations like Habitat for Humanity, contributing to projects like the Carter Work Project, which helps to build brighter futures for families in need. Together, we are fortunate to have the privilege of making a tangible difference in people’s lives and strengthening our communities.” Andersen has more than $4 billion in annual revenue and more than 13,000 employees in sites across North America and Italy. About half of the company’s employees work in Minnesota at facilities in Bayport, Oak Park Heights, Cottage Grove and North Branch.
