MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A Memphis man wanted for sex crimes against a child was captured by U.S. Marshals in Albuquerque, New Mexico last Friday. On December 9, an arrest warrant was issued for 26-year-old Humberto Martinez for rape of a child and aggravated sexual battery. Humberto Martinez. The Shelby County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Apprehension Team (FAT) developed information that Martinez had fled to Albuquerque. The FAT team requested assistance from the USMS Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force (TRVFTF) in Memphis to locate and apprehend Martinez. Woman dead, toddler critical after shooting in Hardin County: TBI The TRVFTF adopted the case for investigation and provided leads to the USMS Southwest Investigative Fugitive (SWIFT). On December 13, the SWIFT team located Martinez at a residence in Albuquerque and took him into custody without incident. Martinez is currently awaiting extradition back to Tennessee.
