Weather forecast: Warm and rainy to end Monday
Dec 16, 2024
ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) — We saw a bit of some sunshine throughout the morning and early afternoon hours here in Rochester. However, that rain that was once lingering to our west will start to make its way through the area starting around dinnertime. Tonight's overnight lows, or more like highs, will likely remain warm. A warm front will move through, allowing temperatures to climb into the low 50s but will be quickly followed by a cold front. This also means that our high temperature for Tuesday will likely be reached shortly after midnight.
8-Day Forecast
Once Tuesday's high is reached just shortly after midnight, temperatures will continue to decrease throughout the day. Conditions will also be quite windy tomorrow, which will make temperatures feel that they are colder than they actually are. A chance of an isolated rain shower or two is not out of the question; otherwise, clouds will dominate our skies.
Our next system will approach from the west on Wednesday and could bring a chance for rain and snow showers starting during the late afternoon and early evening hours. Temperatures will reach the upper 30s prior to the system arriving. There may be some accumulating snow Wednesday night into Thursday.
There are some questions about the end of the week into the weekend. Snow showers may have an impact Friday and Saturday. There is still a chance that this system misses Rochester to the south.
