Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles system restored after statewide outage

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Officials with the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicle announced their computer system has been restored after experiencing an outage on Monday, Dec. 16.
In a post to Facebook at 8:50 a.m., officials said the system was temporarily down and that they were unable to process driver's license, vehicle registration and reinstatement transactions.

"We appreciate your patience as our vendor works to restore service. Updates will be posted here as soon as the system is operational again."
At 12:45 p.m., OMV officials announced the system's restoration and are able to process transactions.
Residents with a Monday appointment can reschedule using the OMV's Express Lane website.
