Two arrested in Tangipahoa Parish accused of internet solicitation of minors

TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Two men accused of multiple internet crimes against children have been arrested in Hammond.
According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office, 37-year-old Preston James Murray was arrested after he allegedly attempted to meet a child for sex.
They add Murray had driven a van outfitted with a sofa, speaker, alcohol and drugs, with insulated covering the windows "for privacy".

He was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on Dec. 10 on charges of indecent behavior with juveniles, computer-aided solicitation of a minor, attempted carnal knowledge of a juvenile and possession of Schedule I controlled substance.

On Friday, Dec. 13, 46-year-old Joshua Collie was arrested and booked on charges of indecent behavior with juveniles and computer-aided solicitation, said deputies.
Collie's arrest came after days of allegedly explicit chats with what he believed to be a minor, committing to pick them up for "chicken nuggets and sex."

The arrests were made in collaboration with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office and Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill's Office.
