KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The results are back on the Patrick Mahomes ankle injury he suffered vs. the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
Mahomes was diagnosed with a mild high-ankle sprain after testing, according to reports. He is considered week-to-week.

It is possible Mahomes could practice this week. The Chiefs play the Houston Texans on Saturday and then have a quick turnaround as they face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas four days later.
It is unlikely Mahomes plays in the Saturday matchup, but he is expected to be fine in the long-term.
If Mahomes can't go, Carson Wentz will get the start. His last start was against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 18 of last season. In the past, Chiefs backup QBs have played well during Mahomes' tenure. Matt Moore and Chad Henne both were able to keep the offense afloat. Wentz has plenty of experience and has had success throughout his career.

The Chiefs currently hold the one seed in the AFC with three games left to play. They have a two game lead over Buffalo, but the Bills own the tiebreaker.
The Chiefs close the season out with the Texans, Steelers and Denver Broncos.
