EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The City of El Paso has completed a $2.2 million project at the El Paso Animal Services Shelter, the City said in a press release.
The City says the shelter received a new HVAC system and the project was to improve air quality and enhance animal health and safety.
The HVAC system is a "transformative upgrade, designed to prevent the spread of disease and provide a more comfortable environment for the animals and staff," the City said.
The City also provided a list of features of the project which are the following:
State-of-the-art HVAC system installation
Upgraded ducts and insulation for improved efficiency
Steel framing reinforcements to support the new system
“Keeping the pets in our care safe and healthy is our top priority,” said Terry Kebschull, Director of El Paso Animal Services. “This HVAC system will not only ensure a comfortable environment year-round, keeping pets cool in the summer and warm in the winter, but it will also significantly reduce the risk of illness, helping us provide better care to our furry residents.”
