(SALIDA, Colo.) — Hand-crafted jewelry is a family tradition at Riveting Experience Jewelry in Salida, where the art has been handed down for three generations, and the experience is extended to the customer as well. Nicole Hansen and her Husband Harry run the store, and their son is also learning the business. "I always saw myself as a jeweler," said Nicole. "I fell in love with hammering on metal with my parents in the store. I remember making my first ring when I was nine years old with my dad." Now she carries on the tradition with her family and shares her love with her customers. "It's like Paint and Sip, but jewelry," said Harry. "But the thing we bring to the table is three generations of metalsmithing." "We have been able to condense the process of jewelry making into a few simple steps while allowing the customer to walk out with a very quality well-made piece of jewelry that they can be proud of," said Harry. The experience offers good memories and bragging rights, in addition to a beautiful final product that a customer can feel proud of. "You know, when... at the grocery store, and someone says 'Oh, nice pair of earrings,'" said Nicole. "They get to say 'I made these.' It's a whole other level of satisfaction than it is to just go to a store and purchase something. To make it with your own hands, it's special."
