New traffic signal to be activated in Amherst

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A new traffic signal will be activated starting Dec. 23 at the intersection of Millersport Highway and Hopkins Road in Amherst, the New York State Department of Transportation announced Monday.
From Dec. 23 through 29, the signal will operate in flashing mode, with flashing yellow signals on Millersport Highway and flashing red signals on Hopkins Road.
The signal will be fully activated in three-color operation on Dec. 30.
Motorists are asked to use caution around the intersection while traffic adjusts to the new pattern, the NYSDOT said.
