Property tax statements are in the mail
Dec 16, 2024
(KXNET) — It's probably not the kind of holiday item you'd want to get in the mail this time of year, but property tax statements have been mailed out or are in the process of being mailed.
Merry Christmas.
Morton County statements went out last week and Burleigh County has just sent theirs (45,500 statements, by their count).
The North Dakota Century Code mandates property tax statements must be mailed by December 26 each year. If you don't receive your statement by the start of the new year, you're encouraged to contact your county auditor.
Mobile home tax statements are also mailed in December.
Also, you may want to look into the $500 tax credit you can get on your property taxes.
Homeowners in the state can apply for the 2025 Primary Residence Credit, which will allow them to receive up to a $500 credit against next year’s property tax.
Applications open for Primary Residence Credit
To be eligible for the credit, you have to own either a house, mobile home, duplex, townhome, or condo. However, it must be in North Dakota and it must be your primary residence. There are no other age restrictions or income limits.
