Louisiana DMV services back up after statewide system outage
Dec 16, 2024
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Louisiana residents were unable to renew licenses or register vehicles for several hours on Monday morning as a statewide DMV system outage left offices unable to process transactions.
In a post on Facebook at 8:55 a.m., officials with the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) said the system is temporarily down and that they are unable to process driver's license, vehicle registration, and reinstatement transactions.
"We appreciate your patience as our vendor works to restore service. Updates will be posted here as soon as the system is operational again."
As of 12:35 p.m., system services have been restored, according to Matt Boudreaux, public OMV information officer. Follow the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicle's official Facebook page for the latest updates.
