BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Kern High School District Police arrested a Frontier High student who was allegedly in possession of an unloaded firearm Monday morning, according to school officials. The high school notified parents through voicemail and email about the incident Monday morning. Officials said a parent reported to the school, a student had a handgun in their backpack. District police placed the student in custody, school officials said. Valley Plaza Mall temporarily evacuated after false reports of a possible active shooter Additional officers will be on campus for further investigation, officials said. Check back for updates.
