DC firefighters respond to structural collapse in Northwest

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Firefighters in Washington, D.C., blocked off M Street after bricks from a building began to fall off on Monday morning.
In a post on X, the DC Fire and EMS Department (DCFD) said that crews responded to the corner of 11th and M Streets NW for a structural collapse.

Once on the scene, firefighters discovered that bricks had fallen from the 11-M Coin Laundry building. Officials said a small section of the exterior wall had also fallen.
According to the DCFD, units set up a collapse zone around the vacant building and used caution tape to block off the area.
Officials said the three-story building did not have active utilities and no one was hurt.
A building inspector was called to the scene.
